Samsung Electronics introduced its image sensor brand ‘IIsocell’ at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai. The new brand comes from Samsung's Isocell technology developed for devices that require ultra-slim designs with high-quality cameras.
First introduced in 2013, Isocell separates each pixel with a physical barrier that reduces color crosstalk among pixels. This allows high colour fidelity, enabling excellent image quality even with smaller pixels, according to the company.
The Isocell brand will use four sub-brands—Bright, Fast, Slim and Dual—that respond to specific market demands. At MWC Shanghai, Samsung also is showing advanced logic solutions, including the Exynos 9 series with 10-nm FinFET process technology.
