Malaysian fixed-line telecommunications provider Time dotcom saw its first-half revenue grow 20.9 percent year-on-year to MYR 423.7 million, boosted by data and data centre sales which jumped 23.4 percent and 27.3 percent, respectively. After excluding non-recurring items from the current and previous corresponding period, Time posted a 13.9 percent year-on-year revenue increase, as demand from its Enterprise and Retail customers continued to be encouraging. Time also saw a core pre-tax profit of MYR 93.4 million, 23.3 percent higher than MYR 75.8 million in the first half of 2016.
The Group looks forward to the completion of its proposed investment in Thailand’s Symphony Communication Public Company (SYMC) by year-end. SYMC’s network can be linked with Time’s in Malaysia to extend the Group’s terrestrial network reach across Thailand, with the propect of extending into Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, the company said.
Time dotcom also anticipates the full completion and operational commencement of the Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) subsea cable system by end-2017. Combined with its existing subsea cable investments, the Group will be able to connect and explore new markets and opportunities in almost 30 countries across the globe.
