In June 2017, Hengtong Electricity Power Industry Group -Hengtong Submarine Power Cable Co., Ltd released the world’s longest continuous insulation extrution length without joint of 220kV submarine cable, and delivered the first batch of 220kV submarine cable for the Longyuan Dafeng offshore wind power project in Hengtong (Changshu) High VoltageSubmarineCable Industry Park. Li Ziwei, CEO of HengtongElectricity Power Industry Groupand Wang Jian,General Manager of Jiangsu Longyuan branch witnessed the creation of new world record.
The submarine cable started production in January 2017, with a total length of production over 200km for 35kV and 220kV. It is noteworthy that the 220kV - 1*1600mm²continuous extrusion length up to 30.2km, setting the world record for the longest of the same type. TheVCV production line has a non-stop running of 25 days,and nearly 165 tons XLPE insulation material from Borealisused up, keeping the longest continuous running record in the industry and setting the world record with no unusualsituation. The submarine cable also passed the voltage test of 1000kW capacity and completedthevoltage test for 220kV cable with 30.2 km one time, hit the high voltage test record of the submarine cable industry.
It is introduced by Li Ziwei that Hentong successfully won the bid for the project with the bid amount of 280 million yuan(about $41 million) at the beginning of 2017. The delivery of the project reflects Hengtong’s technical level in the area of large cross section and large length submarine cable manufacturing, shows the equipment strength of Hengtong in high voltagesubmarine cable manufacturing, and demonstrates the ability of Hengtong to provide customers with system solutions.
Wang Jian says, it isvery lucky to choose Hengtong as the partner. He owesto Hengtong’s great efforts for the successful delivery of the project, and hopes Jiangsu Longyuan branch can form a more extensive cooperation with Hengtong and make greater contribution to the cause of offshore wind power ofChina.
