New pan-industry eco rating scheme launched for mobile phones
Huawei 5G MEC Solution Hones the Edge of Industry
[Shenzhen, China, May 7, 2021] The 5G MEC summit was held during the Huawei Developer Conference 2021 (Cloud), under the theme "5G MEC Lights up Industry Application Innovation".

At the summit, Huawei signed an agreement forming the Manage Alliance Relationship (MAR) with Beijing CSVision Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing HIYAN Intelligence-Tech Co., Ltd., aiming to leverage the unique advantages of each party to develop 5G MEC, and, in turn, upgrade industry applications such as intelligent video content analysis, action identification, and machine vision. Together, the three parties will bring about more 5G MEC services and benchmarks for its application.

Nokia wins 5G deal with DITO in the Philippines
Nokia has today announced it has been selected by DITO Telecommunity Corporation (DITO), to deploy 5G services on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The deployment will enable DITO to complete its ambitious strategy of building a high-quality 5G network throughout the country, which formally launched in May 2021.

With this deal, Nokia is helping DITO to deliver 5G services to its customers with superior speeds, capacity, and lower latencies while reducing complexity and driving down costs through increased energy efficiencies. To achieve the desired network performance, Nokia is providing equipment from its comprehensive massive MIMO, multi-band, Single RAN AirScale portfolio to build the Radio Access Network (RAN) for the 5G infrastructure across Mindanao, the Philippines’ second largest island.

Nokia launches world’s first AI use case library on public cloud for telecoms providers
Nokia today announced the world’s first deployment of multiple AI use cases delivered over public cloud, through collaboration with Microsoft. By integrating Nokia’s security framework with Microsoft Azure’s digital architecture, communications service providers (CSPs) can securely inject AI into their networks nine times faster than using private cloud and scale fast across their network. AI use cases are essential for CSPs to manage the business complexity that 5G and cloud networks bring, and will help accelerate digital transformation.
New Ericsson products to accelerate 5G indoor connectivity
Ericsson has expanded its indoor 5G portfolio, with additions including Ericsson Indoor AIR 1279 and Ericsson Radio Dot 4459 small-cell radio – both initially targeting the U.S. market – and Ericsson Indoor Connect, a support offering for multi-operator and multi-vendor scenarios.
ZTE brings wireless coverage to world's second highest peak
27 May 2021, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, together with a local operator in Pakistan, has built a base station and completed several kilometers of wireless coverage around the station at the K2 base camp for the the world's second highest peak on the border between China and Pakistan, with the aim of building a strong communication network for climbers.
