Corning Appoints Edward Schlesinger Chief Financial Officer
Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) today announced the appointment of Edward Schlesinger to executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Feb. 18, 2022. Nexans and Terna announce a major contract of more than 650 million euros for the first HVDC interconnector between Sardinia and Sicily, driving sustainable energy and strengthening the energy hub in the Mediterranean

Nexans will provide 500km of 500kV HVDC mass impregnated subsea cable link for the Tyrrhenian Link project to build a new electricity corridor connecting Sicily and Sardinia to Italy’s mainland.

The cables supplied for the Tyrrhenian link project will improve electricity exchange capacity, facilitate the development of renewable energy sources, and improve the reliability of the grid at the center of Mediterranean. more>>

Nokia and Teletalk bring first 5G network to Bangladesh Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced that it has been selected by Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd (Teletalk) to deploy a 5G network in the country for the first time. The deal supports the government’s digital agenda to drive automation, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 in Bangladesh underpinned by 5G. The new network will drive faster speeds, lower latency, and reliability and support the intelligent transformation of industries including education and healthcare.

2021 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Conference Opened in Wuhan Authorized YOFC as the Offshore Center for International Technology Cooperation (Technology Transfer) The 2021 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Conference, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Hubei Provincial People's Government was opened on December 12, in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province on the theme of "embracing a brighter future through innovation cooperation". The conference takes place on the context of acting on the messages communicated during the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC and important address delivered by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to facilitate closer cooperation and exchanges in science and technology with Africa and other countries along the Belt and Road Initiative as the part of efforts to jointly build a China-Africa community with a shared future.
