More Telcos to Run IMS in a NFV Platform in 2018: IHS
More global operators will run IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) in a network function virtualization (NFV) environment, a report from research firm IHS said.
According to the report, 17% of operator respondents are currently running IMS network elements in a NFV environment.
However, respondent use of IMS in NFV environments will grow significantly to 78% by 2018, driven by the ability to scale services up and down quickly and also operational efficiencies, IHS said.
African Economies Reap Big from Cooperation with China: AU Officials
KIGALI, July, 18 (Xinhua) -- China's economic engagement in Africa has created significant benefits for African economies which is a catalyst for the continent to realize agenda 2063, say top officials at the African Union (AU) in Kigali, capital of Rwanda.
Rwanda hosts the summit from July 10th to 18th under the theme: "2016: African Year of Human Rights, with particular focus on the Rights of Women."
In an interview with Xinhua on Monday, David Bahati, Uganda state minister of finance and planning said that China is playing a crucial role in enabling the continent address the challenges of infrastructure development especially in the areas of roads, railways, ICT and energy.
"In the recent years, we have seen China's foreign aid to Africa increase which has boosted social and economic transformation of the African economies. For instance China is supporting Uganda to have renewable energy sources through the construction of hydro-electricity dams which will enable our country achieve sustainable development goals," he added.
China Telecom Founds Esurfing IoT Industry Alliance with 12 Corporations
Recently China Telecom set up Esurfing IoT Industry Alliance jointly with other twelve companies including Qualcomm, Huawei, ZTE, Intel, Bosch, SAP, IBM, Ericsson, Shenzhen Capital Group, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, BUPT and Southeast University.
According to Gao Tongqing, chairman of the Alliance and deputy general manager of China Telecom Group, the thirteen corporations will fully support the development of Esurfing IoT Industry Alliance and the industry chain. The Alliance will attract more than 1,000 members and CNY ten million of investment funds at least while making over 100 million connections between things come true.
